EnergyRecycler’s Green Boxes are custom made energy saving units. These units recycle unused energy along with raising the efficiency of the motor, thus saving you money. We will then do what we call a “sizing”. During the sizing we will read the amp draw of the motor and PowerFactor. Installing our system will drastically reduce the current/amps drawn from your utility company while maintaining the same output. Overview of EnergyRecyclers Unit Today’s commercial/industrial applications require looking beyond the traditional means of energy conservation and savings. Purchasing high efficiency motors to reduce energy costs are typically cost prohibitive. As the demand for power runs through your industrial setting, there is nonproductive current. Physically we know this current as heat, but it does more than just heat up the motor. This nonproductive, but paid for, current strains your equipment and wiring effecting the efficiency of the electricity. The Green Box from EnergyRecyclers optimizes the watts that come in, allowing the motors and equipment to operate more efficiently. Having no strain in the current reduces heat, lowers your electricity costs, and increases the life of your motorized equipment. The Optimization Sizing System provides a simple and accurate way for measuring and optimizing the power factor to unity of individual inductive loads (motors). During the sizing we precisely fine tune the motor. Once the sizing is complete a precise analysis, estimated savings and ROI are prepared for the customer. We then custom build our product to fit your system and reduce the demand on the electric company. Are the Green Boxes Tested? Yes, the units are UL listed and tested, CSA approved, NASA tested, has a level 4 Cleaner and Greener rating, is ROHS compliant and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy. How can this save me money? Inside the Green Boxes are custom capacitors. These capacitors can be custom fit for 1/3 Hp motor up to a 1,000 Hp. A capacitor can store reactive power (unused, but paid for) and feed it back to you motor. This reduces the amount of “paid for” electricity. Our units also decrease the amp draw a motor needs to run while maintaining the same output, further increasing savings. What about soft starts and VFD’s? VFD’s are set up to automatically regulate the current of a motor. This allows you to control the amount of electricity the motor draws. Our boxes will work with a variable frequency drive and would be installed before the VFD on the line side of the contactor. In case of a soft start, our units are installed before the soft start. How much are the Green Boxes? Many factors go into sizing and making a Green Box. All of our capacitors are custom made specifically for your facility.
